PhD SYMPOSIUM

PhD SYMPOSIUM is devoted to PhD students and early stage researchers attending the school that will have the possibility to present their PhD research to a senior court and other attendees of the school. An open session will collect 5-minute voluntary presentations of work in progress. Half-page abstract containing title, authors, and summary of the research will have to be submitted by every participant.

Damir Bacalja

Application of Data Science in business

This lecture will provide some real life examples of using Big Data and Data Science to solve business problems that were almost impossible or infeasible just few years ago. It will reflect on ML and AI and their applications. We will also take a look at some recent advances in heterogeneous computing and look beyond CPU/GPU for modeling of neural networks.

VENUE

3rd NESUS Winter School will be held at the beautiful town of Zagreb, Croatia.

Zagreb– city with a million hearts

The city of Zagreb, capital of Croatia, on the historic and political threshold between East and West, illustrates both the continental and Mediterranean spirit of the nation it spearheads. Zagreb is the cultural, scientific, economic, political and administrative centre of the Republic of Croatia, and is home to the Croatian Parliament, Government and President. Its favorable location between the Pannonian plain, the edge of the Alps and the Dinaric range has allowed it to become a crossing point for mass international communication.
